Such A Big Day!

Today is our tenth wedding anniversary. We were married on 08/08/98 though we didn't initially pick the date to be cute. Mike spent that summer in London as part of a study abroad program and that was the best weekend between his return and the start of Fall semester.

Yes, Fall semester. Because we got married while we were still in school. Oh, how I remember being told we should wait, that we were making a horrible mistake, that we were too young. I remember specifically the suggestion of waiting for 09/09/99 and smiling while someone told me wouldn't last two years.

But here we are, ten years later, doing just fine. In that time, we've completed our undergrad degrees, moved to Raleigh, acquired two kitties, bought a house, weathered some job issues, survived his MBA, made it through a few health scares, become an aunt/uncle on both sides of the family, and taken some amazing trips. Just to name a few things. Ups and downs, just like you'd expect in ten years' time.

Who knows what the next ten to ??? years will bring. Mike isn't one to sit still for long before he's itching for the next adventure. I have a feeling it will be quite a ride.

In other news, there's some little sporting event starting today. Maybe you've heard about it? I'm completely fascinated by so many different aspects of the Olympics in China this year. So our big anniversary plans involve watching the opening ceremonies tonight. Tomorrow, we'll go out for a proper celebration dinner.
